On October 19, 2006, Ryan and Becky and I went on a quest for a pair of Nintendo Wii consoles. We checked a few Walmarts, where they were going on sale right at midnight, but (at 8pm) the lines were pretty long already. We ended up camped out at the Target at 132nd & Maple, starting at about 10pm for an 8am opening. Some guy named Paul who was there with his teenage son brought his Coleman stove and made everyone hot chocolate.

In the end, we each ended up with a Wii; Becky and I sold one of our 2 on eBay. A few weeks later, Becky found another one at the Westroads Gamestop, which I promptly picked up to eBay as well. As a result, the Wii we kept was entirely paid for by the ones we sold.

Since then, we've camped out for another Wii with Pam, as a gift for Seth's birthday, and a Guitar Hero, this time at Best Buy and Toys R Us. I guess the moral of this story is that we're just fools that like standing out in the cold to get neat video games.
