Niko 32" LCD Repair

So last week our 32" Niko (tiger direct) LCD TV started acting up. After an hour or so of "on time", the colors would get all weird in the darker portions of the image. A quick Google search turned up that this was a fairly common heat-related issue in the second revision, where the manufacturer had removed a 60mm cooling fan, and replaced it with... NOTHING.

I took it upon myself to add such a fan, cutting a hole in the sheet metal box with a (too small) hole saw, and enlarging it with tin snips. I borrowed power from a pair of 12v lines feeding the audio subsystem, which I suspect has power to spare, at anything but full volume. Moreover, at 100ma or so, the fan isn't really a big draw. Got it all back together, and it works great.

Unfortunately, I have no pictures of this project, as I was working alone, and was anxious to get it finished up, so I could reassemble the 500 pieces of TV on my office floor.
