OBDII Interface
From Fozzee.net
So I finally got my scan tool in the mail today, and let me tell you, it's incredible the things a Volkswagen will tell you. Since my Jetta is a MKIV, it speaks the old HEX protocol. I ended up buying a "white-label" HEX-only tool, which works with the older (3xx and 4xx VAG-Com packages), and I have a feeling it's actually (and additionally) a generic OBDII to USB interface... Not bad for $20 shipped on Ebay.
In any case, it helped me find the source of my recent MIL/CEL... something to do with glow plug #3; I'm suspect I bumped something whilst investigating my temperature sensor problem... TDIClub forums indicate that it's often a corrosion or moisture problem and that either you can clean the plug or simply replace the harness... I suppose I'll take it apart and wiggle it a bit, and see where I end up... Hooray for having a scan tool at home.
