Post:Defraggler

Just a quick note. Caleb pointed me to a pretty slick defragmentor called Defraggler. He claims that it's superior to Windows defrag because it wants to do work after you've run Windows defrag to the point that it has nothing left to do. In my slightly less than empirical study, I'd note that even Defraggler says that MSDefrag eliminated virtually all of the fragmentation, but spent a good while moving things around anyhow. (0% fragmented, though a few files 38mb worth still had some fragments). I'd suggest that it's more likely that Defraggler and MSDefrag employ different defragmentation strategies and that they just disagree a bit on how things should be arranged. On the upside, Defraggler has some basic scheduling stuff built in and a pretty slick (retro DOS) moving picture to go along with our speediness.
