This page contains generically useful stuff for a number of PC-based RTS games, including Total Annihilation, Red Alert and Empire Earth. Additionally, while it isn't exactly realtime, I've lumped Stars! into this page as well.

Total Annihilation
Total Annihilation (TA) is a RTS made by Cavedog, a company sadly done-in by the sequel to this fine game. Origionally written in the win95 days, it runs fine under Win2k and XP. It supports "Psudo-3D", where height exists and is taken into concideration, but you can only view the battlefield from one angle. Any PC with at least 128mb of RAM should run it fine.

PlanetAnnihilation.com is the premiere source for TA maps, tilesets, unit expansions and add-on missions. Highly Recomended.

TAuniverse.com is a site I stumbled across the other day. They seem more focused on Kingdoms (the wayward sequel), but probobly a good source for maps and that anyhow.
- Fozzee's Testing Ground
This was a map I whiped up one night, it's basically a giant metal plain, of the maximum size supported by the game engine. There might be a few suprises in the lower right corner...
Empire Earth
Empire Earth is an RTS that spans the history (and the future) of human evolution. You can start at any "Epoch" and advance as far as you'd like (or as far as the settings will allow). As your civilization evolves, some units become more advanced, while others fade into obsolescense. Below are some of my oft-used civilizations for your enjoyment; I never actually figured out how to do map editing for multiplayer reliably.
Red Alert
Stars!
Stars! is a turn-based space-strategy game, similar to the Master of Orion franchise. It was originally coded for win16, but runs fine as of win2k. The company that created it, which seemed to be just one guy, looks to not exist anymore. Per Download.com, Empire Interactive now owns rights to it, but doesn't seem to support it. If it is in fact abandonware, I'll be posting it here soon. Currently, I've got some races for you to peruse.
