Steampunk
From Fozzee.net
Webster's New Millennium Dictionary defines Steampunk as "A genre of science fiction set in Victorian times when steam was the main source of machine power".
Those more involved refer to it as a subculture, a hobby, a lifestyle, or a way of being. Those who actually delve deeper understand that it's an ideal, an outlook, even an obsession. Steampunks have converted discarded buses into "Victorian RVs", made rayguns from all manner of household bits.
Anyhow, now that we know what it is, I can admit that I've got the Steampunk bug. I never thought I was much for form over function, but I think this has taught me that you can have both, it just takes some craftsmanship. Below are some links and resources.
The Steampunk Workshop was running a link to a "What is Steampunk" sort of article. I finally got a chance to read it, and it's quite excellent. Check it out for yourself over at The Phoenix.
